"香林(KORIN)" is a term used in ancient Chinese poetry to describe a scenic place where different ethnicities and religions coexist harmoniously. "居(KYO)" means to exist, and to conduct oneself.
Therefore, the term "香林居(KORINKYO)" doesn't represent an actual geographical location but rather an ideal place that exists within people's hearts, where serene and gentle times flow. In this place, the ambiance and culture of the land transform into aesthetic elements, different cultures merge, giving birth to new beauty and peace. You can sense how the history, culture, and nature of the land blend into time. If you can vaguely sense this while staying at our inn, there's nothing more rewarding.

For those of us who often dwell in square, cubic spaces, living enveloped by curves may not be a common experience. We take inspiration from the striking arched facade of the former Shinbido Building, and its space is composed of gentle arcs and taut straight lines. Fluttering light, breathing curtains, and uneven, unbalanced plaster. Enjoy a gentle stay embraced by such ambiguity.
